I’m on the home stretch to the end of the challenge. Only 9 days left! Catch up with what you missed on the 30DWC tab or join in here. Now for sharing some of my limited amount of wisdom, with thoughts about parenthood…
What three lessons do you want your children to learn from you?
1. Laugh At Yourself.
This is essential! We all do funny things sometimes, often when we’re not trying to… However, if you don’t laugh at those silly things, then you’ll only end up crying or storming off, and that’s much less fun. Forget your pride and see the funny side of things.
(Though, if someone’s making fun of you, kick ’em in the teeth!)
2. It’s Perfectly Okay To Say No.
In all aspects of life! From the big, intimidating situations at work or school, to the little things that you just don’t fancy doing. I’m not a fan of the ‘yes man’ approach. If you don’t want to do something, say no and stick by your guns! Don’t be apologetic for not wanting to do something.
(And, if someone tries to push you to say yes, kick ’em in the teeth!)
3. You Are Super Cool!
Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. There are so many odd-balls and weirdos that are so flippin’ cool simply because they refused to believe anything different! You don’t need to follow the crowd or fit in to be someone that people like. The people worth being liked by will like you anyway.
(And the people that don’t, kick ’em in the teeeeeth!)
* Note: Teeth kicking advice is a prime reason why I am not a parent yet.
