A good friend of mine recently put together a detailed and enlightening list of things she learnt on her way to 25 years of age. Inspired by this idea and just turning 25 myself, I decided to write a much less detailed and less enlightening list, but a list none-the-less. Here are a few small pieces of wisdom (or belated realisations, at the very least) that I’ve learnt in my short quarter-century of life so far.

Every time I look at a photo from a few years ago or reminisc about old stories with friends, I realise how much we’ve changed in just a few years. I’m sure in a few more years, I’ll be noticing much more prominent changes between our twenties and thirties. But, for now I’m just going to share some of the amusing thoughts I had not so long ago.

People often laugh at the idea of middle-aged men having a mid-life crises; buying a sports car, dating a younger woman and wearing an inappropriate silk shirt. In fact, I used to laugh at it myself. That was until I exprienced something startlingly similar myself… the quarter-life crisis. Except, in my case, I bought a motorbike, tried to become self-employed and attempted to become vegetarian. Potato potato.
